Anthropic Launches Claude Creative Connectors for Photoshop, Blender, Ableton and More

AI safety company Anthropic announced on April 28 a new suite of Claude Connectors that enable the AI assistant to directly access and operate within major creative software including Adobe Creative Cloud, Blender, Ableton Live, and Autodesk Fusion — marking a significant step in AI’s deep integration into creative workflows.

Nine Connectors Cover the Creative Industry

The newly released connectors span eight major creative tool platforms, connecting Claude with professional software through the Model Context Protocol (MCP):

  • Adobe for Creativity: Integrates with 50+ Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop, Premiere, and Express, enabling AI-driven generation and editing of images, video, and design assets
  • Blender: Provides a natural-language interface to Blender’s Python API, allowing users to manipulate the open-source 3D modeling software through conversation
  • Ableton: Grounds Claude’s answers in official product documentation for Live and Push, assisting music producers
  • Affinity by Canva: Automates repetitive production tasks such as batch image adjustments, layer renaming, and file exports
  • Autodesk Fusion: Enables subscribers to create and modify 3D models through conversational interaction with Claude
  • Resolume Arena/Wire: VJs and live visual artists can control visual performances in real time through natural language
  • SketchUp: Turns conversations into 3D modeling starting points — describe a room, furniture, or site concept, then refine it in SketchUp
  • Splice: Music producers can search Splice’s catalog of royalty-free samples directly from within Claude

Sponsoring the Blender Development Fund

As part of the announcement, Anthropic became a Corporate Patron of the Blender Development Fund, joining sponsors including Netflix, Epic Games, and Wacom. Under the fund’s sponsorship tiers, Anthropic will contribute at least €240,000 (approximately $281,000) annually to the Blender Foundation.

The Blender Foundation said the funding will help it “continue pursuing projects independently and focus on building tools for artists and creators.”

Anthropic’s Creative Industry Strategy

“Claude can’t replace taste or imagination, but it can open up new ways of working — faster and more ambitious ideation, a more expansive skillset, and the ability for creatives to take on larger-scale projects,” Anthropic said in its announcement. “AI can also help shoulder the parts of the creative process that eat up time by handling repetitive tasks and eliminating manual toil.”

The move is seen as a significant push by Anthropic into the creative industry, following its launch of Claude Design earlier this month. Through its MCP connector strategy, Anthropic is positioning Claude as a daily collaborative partner for creative professionals rather than a simple question-and-answer tool.
