[Brief] Japanese Stablecoin Firm JPYC Raises $38M

Japanese stablecoin issuer JPYC announced on August 6 the completion of a $38 million extended Series B funding round. The company said proceeds will be used to expand its financial and Web3 ecosystem and accelerate adoption of the JPYC stablecoin.

JPYC is Japan’s leading compliant stablecoin project, pegged 1:1 to the Japanese yen. Following Japan’s new crypto regulatory framework, the stablecoin market is seen as a key bridge between traditional finance and digital assets. JPYC has obtained relevant licenses from Japan’s Financial Services Agency, becoming one of the country’s first compliant stablecoin issuers.

The round’s completion reflects investor confidence in the Asian stablecoin market. As global stablecoin regulation becomes clearer, compliant stablecoins have growing applications in cross-border payments, DeFi, and digital asset management.
