SpaceX Launches First Bond Offering After Record $75B IPO
SpaceX announced on June 22 the launch of its first-ever senior unsecured notes offering, marking the company’s debut in debt capital markets following its record $75 billion IPO earlier this month.
The notes represent unsecured debt ranking equally with all existing and future unsecured obligations. Proceeds will be used to repay existing bridge loan balances, with the offering available only to “qualified institutional buyers.”
SpaceX completed its IPO on June 12 at a $75 billion valuation on NASDAQ, making it the largest technology IPO in history. The rapid move to bond issuance signals confidence in the company’s credit profile and a strategic shift toward diversified capital structure management.
Wall Street analysts widely expect the offering to be oversubscribed, given SpaceX’s dominant position in commercial launch services and the explosive growth of its Starlink internet business.
