Russia Launches Major Strikes on Ukraine, 21 Injured Across Kyiv

Russia launched a new wave of large-scale missile and drone strikes against Ukraine on May 24. Ukrainian authorities reported that all districts of Kyiv were hit, with at least 21 people injured in the attacks, including a 15-year-old boy.

The airstrike represents one of the largest attacks on the Ukrainian capital in recent months. Ukrainian air defense forces attempted to intercept incoming missiles and drones, but some targets still struck. Multiple residential areas and infrastructure reported damage, with emergency rescue workers conducting search and rescue operations at the scene.

The Ukrainian presidential office stated that Russia targeted civilian infrastructure, constituting a war crime. The international community has condemned the strikes.

The day before, Russia and Ukraine had each announced contradictory ceasefire proposals, but the fighting did not actually stop. Analysts point out that both diplomatic negotiations and military operations on the ground are proceeding simultaneously.
