[Brief] Rescue Diver Dies During Search for Italian Drowning Victims in Maldives

The Maldives government confirmed that a rescue diver has died while searching for the bodies of Italian tourists who drowned in cave diving incidents. BBC reports the diver, Staff Sgt Mohamed Mahdhee, died in a diving accident during the search-and-rescue operation.

Several Italian tourists had previously drowned while cave diving in the Maldives, and the search operation continues.
