UK Watchdog Warns of Sharp Rise in AI-Generated Child Sexual Abuse Material
A report released by the UK’s Internet Watch Foundation has found that confirmed and removed AI-generated child sexual abuse material increased more than four-fold year-on-year over the past 12 months. The report notes that the spread of generative AI tools has dramatically lowered the barrier to producing such material, and calls on national legislatures to bring AI-generated CSAM under dedicated legal frameworks.
