Eritrea Severs Diplomatic Ties With Ethiopia as Drones Hit Addis Ababa, Horn of Africa Tensions Escalate
According to a Reuters, Wall Street Journal and Ynet composite, Eritrea on October 1 severed all diplomatic ties with Ethiopia in response to Addis Ababa’s order to close the Eritrean embassy in Asmara and expel ten Eritrean diplomats. The same day, three explosions were reported in Addis Ababa as an opposition armed coalition claimed responsibility for the strikes, with the African Union and the United Nations calling for restraint.
