Coinbase expanded its investment in tokenization platform Centrifuge, designating it as the preferred partner for launching tokenized assets on Base, its Ethereum layer-2 blockchain. Centrifuge will focus on launching tokenized ETFs, credit, and structured products on Base.
The partnership includes a strategic equity investment by Coinbase in Centrifuge. Following State Street and Galaxy’s joint launch of an onchain cash management fund, this move signals growing institutional interest in tokenized assets. Coinbase’s move further solidifies Base’s position in tokenization infrastructure.
