Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that two high-rise apartment buildings were directly hit, with fears that people remain trapped under the rubble. Emergency rescue operations are underway.
This marks one of the most intense strikes on Ukrainian civilian infrastructure in recent months. Ukraine’s air defense forces activated emergency protocols, but some missiles penetrated the defensive line.
The EU and US condemned the attack. The UN Secretary-General called for an immediate halt to military operations targeting civilian facilities.
