According to BBC and CBS News, a norovirus outbreak has occurred on a Princess cruise ship that departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. An American oncologist aboard the ship served as the de facto head doctor during the outbreak. Medical teams on Spain’s Tenerife island are on standby to receive the vessel and provide medical care to affected passengers.

A separate Princess cruise ship departing from Fort Lauderdale also reported a norovirus outbreak, highlighting ongoing cluster infection risks on cruise vessels.
